Does anyone know of another source to purchase the ivory colored interior window crank knobs for a 40 Master Deluxe Sport Sedan?

Chevs of the 40's, the Fillingstation, I and I Reproductions are out of stock with no expectations of getting any in the near future. I heard the company that makes these is out of business. I need 6.

Thanks,
Curt

The only thing I can think of is to start checking ebay regularly for handles with intact knobs. Good luck

Back in another life I could have turned them on a mini CNC lathe using Tenite plastic rod. It would be a great project for a high schooler. If your high school has Tech Ed, check with a teacher. Maybe they can help.

CSK,

I haven't looked at the price of the ones mentioned on ebay, but it seems to me that if the price is not out of sight, then that may be a reasonable solution.

You may could offer the owner what amount you could live with. Who knows, it may be accepted.

Good luck,

Thanks for the advice Charlie. I've been keeping an eye on those eBay handles and knobs. I've got my fingers crossed that Chevs of the 40's will start producing them.
I believe I heard one of their sales reps say they now have the tooling necessary to do that.

My car may be completely restored and drivable by this Christmas. Minus window knobs!

:-)

Thanks for your suggestion.
I already talked to them and they are out of stock and they have no one available that produces them. Every vendor is out of stock. I don't want the eBay stuff. I am still hoping Chevs of the 40's begins to produce them. I may contact the owner. Got nothing to loose.

Anyone with a 40, or even earlier or later models are going to have a difficult, if not impossible time getting these knobs. Try putting a part in your cart (while online), you'll most likely find "out of stock".

I guess I am really lucky that I bought mine 5 years ago, LONG before I would need them.

Yes indeed.
These 40's are tough to find certain parts for. My restoration is almost complete and the only thing I'm lacking are these ivory knobs. I'll give Chevs of the 40's my weekly call tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with Chevy of 40's about when and if they'll get the ivory colored window crank knobs back in stock. Ain't gonna happen. Filling Station is a no go too.

So, does anyone know of a possible source other than eBay? Is there an injection molding plastic company out there that could make 6 knobs?

These are the only darn parts I need to complete my car.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Curt
