I'm getting ready to hook up my clutch linkage on my basket case 38 sedan. Looking at the service manual, I believe "linkage" from the pedal to the fork is a chain. Is that correct? so far I have not found a short piece of chain in my boxes of parts. If this is correct, what are your feelings on some chain from the hardware store?
Thanks

Yes, the chain attaches to the fork. Why not use the chain you found as it will be the correct length.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the chain, wish I did.

My chain went missing. I suppose any strong enough chain will do but the length and offset are important . Anyway I took a short piece of rod, cross drilled the ends and inserted D shackles. Fifteen years later it's still fine.

The chain is 5 5/8" long.
I thought you said you found a short chain in a box.

Thanks guys and thanks for the measurement. Worked on it last night and the clutch seems to work fine now. Take Care!
