Although they look similar one thing that should be addressed is that the '49-'50 trunk guards have narrow uprights that are flat on top and have a hole in the center so the upper trunk guard can bolt to. The '51-'52 trunk guards mount to the top of the existing bumper guards (no specific uprights). It slips over the upper nipple on the top part of the factory bumper guards. It has 2 small straps on the backside with 2 bolt holes each that bolt to each end of the actual upper guard. The straps sit against the flat part of the rear of the guards and lock the upper guard in place.
