Heard from an experienced rodder that an Olds or Pontiac one-piece windshield (49-54) will replace the stock two-piece windshield in a similar year chevy. Anyone familiar with this switch?

The 1953-54 Chevrolet had a one piece windshiels. Was same glass that Pontiac used in those years...Olds different.

The 1949-52Chevrolet and Pontiac used the same TWO PIECE glass. The 1949 Olds 76 and 88 ,the 1950 76 and early 88 used this glass also. The late 1950 88 and the 1951 88A (small Abody -not Super 88) had the one piece windshield. It can be installed in a 1949-52 Chevrolet , the proper rubber channel and chrome trim must be used. Was common to do years ago.....There are 4 different one piece windshield sizes used. The hump back sedans, the fast back sedans, the hardtop-convertible and the station wagons all use different glass due to windshield heigth.

The sedan delivery windshield would be the same as the hump back sedan,2 door, 4 door or coupe. These were also the most common Oldsmobile body styles.

Available from Chevs of the 40"s and possibly others.Glass is $430 and rubber is $70....shipping is expensive.

The sedan delivery had the lower roof like a Styleline sedan.Includes the door window also.Only the wagon had the higher windshield and roof line.
