I'm restoring a 4 door sedan 1954 BelAir PG...During replacement of the outer rocker panel and passenger side floor pan, I found the inner rocker panel deteriorated beyond reuse. I've searched and asked for help locally with no resolution. Does anyone know the dimensions of a 2 door inner rocker panel (possible replacement)or should I just obtain some (thicker)sheet metal and fabricate a inner panel without the impressions. (thicker panel would maybe offset the lack of original contours) The only problem is...this is not original. Does the replacement inner rocker panel exist on the market anywhere? Can someone help guide me in the right direction? Thanks for the help.

Chevgene,
Will these 2dr. inner rocker panels fit my 4dr sedan? or are they specific to a 2dr.?

Just don't want to order something and get my hopes up only to find out they only fit a 2 dr.
(Which has all ready happened on the outer rocker panels which did not have the teardrop portion below the back door...Note: The Outer Rocker panels (outer) were not purchased from Chevys of the 40's nor The Filling Station.) Also, the outer rocker panels were of lighter gauge metal than the original...guess that will probably be the norm for all replacement sheet metal parts.
Again thanks for the help.

The original inner rocker panels were the same for a 2 door as well as a 4 door. Also when you purchased the outter rocker panel from Chevrolet you recieved a 4 door with the "hook" on the back.If used on a 2 door or if the complete panel wasn't required for a 4 door it was just cut as required. The Chevs of the 40's panels are available in three lengths.--door length for 2 doors,up to the rear"hook" for 4 doors and the complete length as originals.I would guess that all the replacements are made by the same company. As to being lighter gauge metal. This is due to the bends etc.as they usually don't have a heavy enough press to do it with the original gauge sheet metal.
The original inner panels were the same for both the 2 and 4 doors.I believe that it extends all the way back on either body style.
