Gene and others have pointed out that the Huck was used through 1950. Then they went to Bendex in 1951.

Thanks, Charlie. Many parts websites stop at 1941 or 1948...

Hi Rick,

I only know how to post pictures through Photobucket's website. You can find what it's about by looking at my pictures. Photobucket

Good luck, Mike

What do the springs on the parking brake rods do? Mine does not have any on and the brake seems to work OK

Most forums require external linking...photos take up a lot of memory. If you sign up for Outlook/Hotmail/Gmail, can use the free OneDrive app on your phone to get quick links.

If I had to guess, those springs would prevent the rod from rattling around while the brake is disengaged.

Here is the missing spring (brake shoe return spring) that attaches to the top of each brake shoe. The picture I posted above did not have it installed. Notice the black plastic tie I was using on the brake cylinder (wheel cylinder) to keep it from leaking while I was installing my brake shoes.

Thanks Mike

P.S. Colin I would get a replacement spring for your emergency brake.
