Does anyone know what the correct height is for the upper and lower bumpers on the knee action assembly is. Chevs of the 40'3 list two different ones for upper and lower for 39-54 cars. I know if I ask them they won't have a clue.

Don't know the height but the parts number is as follows:

Bumper - Plug 1939-48 All Pass (exc. JB, KB) Bumper Upper Arm 1298323
Ditto Lower Arm 3661888*
* attaches to lower spring seat.

The group number is 6.176

This is out of a 1929-50 parts book, I don't if some other year book would list the height or not.

Good luck,
Charlie computer

Thanks Charlie unfortunately Chevs of the 40's does'nt use OEM part numbers. My experience with them when calling with questions has not been good.

I'm surprised nobody knows the answer. Or are they just not telling.

First I have no demensions on the rubber bumpers.
The front suspension looked the same from 1939-1948 - except The 193, 1940 and early 1941 had The lower bumper was attached to the bottom of the crossmember , under the top bumper. From pictures the top bumper was more round, lkie 1/2 of a ball, probably about 1 1/2 inches tall.
Th e lower bumper was longer, cone shapped.
The late 1941 and up lower bumper is mounted on the lower control arm, cone shapped, and looks lie it could be about 2 inches high.
The upper bumper for 1939 and up was part # 1298323.
The lower bumper for 1939-early 1941 was 599168.
The late 1941-1948 lower bumper was part # 3661888.
Going by Fillings Sations numbers you want their C-329 for the uppper and CV-103 for the lower.
