If you were a fire truck follower, you would realize that most fire apparatus companies offered equipment and bodies for smaller trucks. Those were typically built on 1-3 ton chassis supplied by Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Dodge, International, REO, Mack and other truck manufacturers. The larger companies like Seagrave, American LaFrance, Pierce, Peter Pirsch & Sons, Ahrens-Fox, etc. made trucks of their own design/manufacture. The smaller trucks were typically used by smaller cities, villages, rural companies. Larger trucks used in medium to large cities.
