Can anyone help me "decode" this engine block serial number?
005479 I F55X A
I understand that "F" represents Flint in 1955...but that's about all I can translate. Appreciate any help.

55 is the year and X indiactes the engine is from a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.
5479 indicates it is that sequence number for that engine type.
