I recently stumbled into an article in Hemmings that contained an article about the ACCA now accepting modified vintage Chevy and GMC trucks into the club.. Good news to me because I like cars and trucks that are drivable, safe and run well.
I have been altering Chevy's since I was 14, my first car was a '40 Chevy bus coupe.. I've had several vintage Chevy's from 1938 through the mid '70's.. In 1951 I had a '38 Master 2dr sdn that had a bad motor so I put a 270 CID GMC in the car, did some tweaking up to things and created a car that would out run anything in Eastern Idaho, well that was until a kid put and Old's rocket 88 engine in his '36 Ford..
Currently have a '37 GMC 1/2 ton, a '40 Chevy 1/2 ton a highly
modified '64 C10 and a '66 C10..I also have two '65 Corvair's, both are Corsa 140's.. One is a turbo parts car, the other Corsa is an un-restored original with 31k on the odometer.. Bill

Don't you mean the VCCA instead of the ACCA?

Hi Bill. Let me throw a couple of things your way and then you can see who else steps up.

The article that you may have been referring to was related to the VCCA (Vintage Chevrolet Club of America), not the AACA. And I suspect that that is why you posted here, since this forum is sponsored by the VCCA.

A lot of our club information is available on our "sister" web site http://vcca.org

There is membership application information which explains more:
http://vcca.org/application_to_join.htm

And there is a lot of information about a Drivers Class at:
http://vcca.org/drivers_participation_class.htm

The VCCA is generally supportive of all Chevrolets up to modern, but we only judge stock cars 25 years and older. Cars with minor (or un-noticeable) changes are welcome to join any of our tours if they meet the general criteria (usually year groupings).

The GMC support is still "spinning up" and I'm not aware of any published guidelines yet for them. By checking in here, you'll be one of the first to know.

Now --- it sounds like you've got a great stable!!! And such a sweet mixture. I made the mistake of staying in one year range for too long and now I'm trying to catch up by having a car in each decade!! ha ha...

Welcome to our Chat site.... Please feel free to ask and respond to anything. And, over time, if the club sounds like a good fit, then please give us due consideration.

And -- most of all, JOIN us at Lake Tahoe in 2016 for a week-long celebration!!

OP's.. Typing in ACCA was a mistake, meant to type VCCA..
My taste in cars & trucks is primarily with vehicles that look stock, however, the mechanical components may have been upgraded to more reliable modern engines, brakes, etc.
Case in point; I still have the stock Old's 6 cyln that came in my '37 GMC T14, I replaced it with a '67 Chevy 292 6 cyln and a 350 TH trans and a Camaro 10 bolt rear end.

I like both, my wife likes stock.

I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.
