Hi Ken,
Steel wheels may be easier to maintain, but timber spokes have a class of their own.
Steel wheels may be better balanced, but wooden spokes are a reminder of days gone by never to return.
In the end its up to personal preference, but for me it timber.
Cheers
Ray
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Steel, then people may not ask you what year is your F##d is. Your car looks great with wood or steel.

I like the look of woodern wheels better than the steel, however woodern wheels look funny with with white walls. But as I have 28 convertible sport cabriolet, they ony had steel wheels, so for acuracy I'll keep then on. My favourite phrase is "there is only one person in the world that you have to please" and thats you! Chris

Peter no, but my Sedan rides much softer than the Touring, I wondered about that. Ken

The sedan body is much heavier than the touring hence the better ride. Wheels don't have a great effect on ride. Tires do!
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Hey!
I even got under both and counted the leafs as the difference is very noticeable, now my Suburban rides like a Caddy.
