Ive got original 37 door lock pull knobs that have a threaded brass insert... the repros from Chev of the 40s dont really hold tight... they will pull off after a few times of using them... up and down.. do they need to be glued? or are there any repros that have the brass threads inside?

I've never seen brass inserts in pull knobs. My '38 had the original knobs and they didn't have inserts. Sounds like your mechanism needs some lubrication if the threads are pulling out.

its lubed and moves freely...
Actually I have an original 37 coupe with the brass insert threads and found a pair of originals from a 37 sedan I parted out in the mid 70s for this other coupe...
Problem is the repros look better.. but the originals which look like they are from a 5 year old car hold tight...LOL
