Hello Everyone,
I have a 1947 Fleetline Aerosedan with original fender skirts. The fender skirt seals are original and in very poor condition. When I removed the old seals I noticed a wire that goes completely around the skirt that holds the seal to the skirt.
I purchased new seals from Chevs of the 40s that are supposed to be the original style but I cannot install them properly. The new seals are square shaped and look to have a place for the wire that is used to attach the seal to the skirt. I just can't get the wire into the seal and in the grove around the skirt. I would apprecate any help from someone that has done this before.
