Has anyone used a water wetter to help keep the engine water temp down?

Some years back, I used some stuff like that successfully. I can't recall the name of it. 'Meant to keep the empty bottle but must have trashed it. This ain't much help but, yes, some of it doew work.

I used it recently a couple years ago and thought it helped, but not a huge help. Check out your radiator and make sure it has flow in all parts. YOu can check with one of those "point and shoot" thermometers to check the various areas of the radiator for uniform temp.

The MSDS for WaterWetter shows the ingredients to be:

DiIsopropyl Alcohol Ether 1-40% CAS #25265-71-8 (aka diproplyene glycol)
Tri Isopropyl Alcohol DiEther 1-40% CAS #24800-44-0 (aka tripropylene glycol)
Sodium Molybdate 2-10% CAS #10102-40-6
Tolyltriazole 1-3% CAS #29385-43-1
PolySiloxane Polymer

It is basically solvents (that can reduce surface tension of water) with two anti-corrosion additives and a silicone anti-foam agent. Claims for lower temperatures and better cooling might have some basis for specific situations but are only miniscule (at best) for properly operating cooling systems.

My advice is to save your money or put it in the collection plate where it will do more good.

Thanks for the input. Looking at the water wetter as a possibility down the road. Plan on ckecking the plugs, timing and the water flow.
