I received this note from Brian in Cowra, Australia with pictures of Canadian Military Pattern trucks...

Hi Brewster

I found some unusual “Chevrolets” on the weekend, they were at a clearance sale close to here, unfortunately I forgot my camera so had to use my mobile phone I hope you can use them for the site!

Some people call them ”monkey face blitzes”, but very commonly called Chev Blitzes, they were from Canada, we had heaps of them after the war, most were used by the country fire brigades, as these 3 were, I’m sure you have seen them before but 3 in the one place is a bit rare these days, I’ll keep looking.

Regards
Brian Brooks

Fascinating to see these down under. Thanks for sharing Bruce! I love reading about the post-war uses for trucks like these. They seemed to wind up all over the world and were put to good use for many decades. Looks like three great projects!

Cheers,
-D
