I have routed the cables to their respective locations. I am open to suggestions on how to cut them. Also, is that too much slack in the photo or should I pull some more?

Mine have more slack than yours do on my '36 pickup and '36 standard car both...between the fire wall and the clip that hold them. They sort of arch towards the clips. I notice yours are almost bent. With more slack in them it makes the ends come into the right place, too.

You may want to move the throttle cable over the choke cable for a more direct path. If you need to shorten them, pull the wire back past where you want to cut the housing and cut with wire cutters. push the wire cable back thru and then cut It to length.

An air cut-off tool(or an electric one)or even a dremel tool will do a good job without worrying about crushing the cable housing.

Something else I forgot to ask, where do we cut? 1/2" past the clamp?

Good question and I don't have an answer so perhaps someone with an original cable will answer.

Richard, here's another view, I think the routing is OK. But the choke cable does look a bit short as Terrill says.

I would pull the choke cable back two inch. Cut the housing off (after pulling the wire out) about 1/4 inch past the clamp. Then cut the wire off with the choke fully open.

It wont hurt to leave a little extra slack between the firewall and clamp.
