Brewster
By what I can see the 36 have been an early version of a CB radio and operator on the back.

That could have been a military set up. Could be an aircraft controller. Looks like the radio set up was later than the vehicle it was mounted in. I would venture around 1955 +/-.

Kevin... I copied and pasted the description from their web site. I did take the liberty of correcting the date. They thought it was 1942!

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Thought I would make this, my 1000th post on the VCCA site a meaningful personal one in this thread. This is the 1951 dealer brochure that I copied my profile signature line from when I joined the forum. My favourite Chevrolet year...

HEY!!! Do posts in this section not count???

Just noticed as well... the '51 convertible along the bottom of that painting has the 1950's small rear window. Perhaps the full size plastic curtain was a last minute addition to the production '51's?

I didn't know we were in a race!!!!

I always thought quality counted more than quantity.

Now, I guess no one will be posting here.

Sorry, I went a little off topic..........

Here's an old photo of me in the 54 Chevy I learned to drive in, hopefully that will bring us back on topic........

[Linked Image from i100.photobucket.com]

Of course, no one will post a response because it doesn't count as a post.............

I never cared about my post count... Just thought I'd make #1000 meaningful. Turns out I'm likely at 1500 or so!

That is a great photo, Ken!

Tonight I've got another nice "Before and After" location. The before shows a 1952 sedan at the corner of Younge & Queen Sts in Toronto. The after is the same spot today...minus the nice Chevy!

Hey, thanks Pat... I've been saving up to do some myself. I want to find some S. Ontario pictures of 1951 Chevrolets in front of memorable scenery, then reshoot them with my car today. Going into downtown Toronto with it scares me a bit though! The guys at www.urbantoronto.ca have an awesome thread going of scenes all over the city.

On a personal note, here's where my own interest started in the before and after photography. Pic 1 is my first car, 1994, then my current ride, 2008. Both were shot in my parents driveway.

brewster, you really know how to throw out a tough assignment, my friend.

Here's that picture of me in Dad's '54 from a "few" years back......
[Linked Image from i100.photobucket.com]

Now I have to explain that that location (in NJ) is about 300 miles or so from where I am now (in VT), and only the good Lord knows where that 54 is (and He's not sure).
So the best I can do is a shot of me in my 48 Fleetline in a 4th of July parade in my present hometown of Brandon, VT.
