What kind of arrangement does a 48 have for a front license plate? There is nothing on it now and the only place I can imagine is bolting one on where the middle bumper bolt is. There are no other holes anywhere. Beamer

Beamer,

Several of us just had a discussion about license plate brackets a short time ago. In short, there should be two small holes in the bottom center of the bumper to attach a bracket to. Brackets are available at the Filling Statiion or Chevs of the 40s.

Here's a link to our previous thread.

I'm sure more will chime in on this one wink

....and here's a link to Dale's bracket.

Thanks for the info. I only saw the center bumper bolt as I am an old man and don't get on my hands and knees only when I have to. I guess I will have to start doing it more. I checked and saw the holes and just ordered a bracket from Chevy's of the 40's. I also ordered a battery retainer as my car battery is just setting in the box and not being held down. Lucky it didn't tip over when the car was loaded and unloaded from the trailer. I will find most of the problems sooner or later! Beamer

I can email you a photo of mine...lol I bought it on ebay and it was supposed to have come off a '48...It's the real deal and I got it for $20 bucks...Alas, it doesn't seem to have the right "tilt" to work on my '47...

Kevin47, Thanks for the photo offer but as you can see above, I ordered one already and will have to see how it fits when I get it. Beamer

My bracket came from TFS yesterday and it looks like it is going to fit O.K. Also got a battery box hold-down as mine was missing! Can't imagine driving around with a loose battery. Beamer

I should get a battery bracket, too. I didn't get one with the car, either. It's been 20 years...I guess the cables kept it from getting away. laugh
