Lincoln, Nebraska in 1942 by John Vachon. A 1940 coupe and a 1941 coach are among cars on the street...

Would love to tell you the story behind this one, but the site I pinched it from was all in Dutch or German! It's a Glaser bodied 1936 cabriolet.

The roof covering waas not paper. It was some kind of silver material, probably some type of plastic reinforced with a thread material. I used to bring some home and use it for covering things to protect them from the weather, etc.

Thanks for the correct answer Gene. I had seen paper on older factory pictures, and kind of made an assumption... my bad.

"Cabriolet" is French for convertible. That's why Europeans use the term. The Germans also use the term ie) the Volkswagen Cabriolet...

Actually if you google the word CABRIOLET, your going to come up with way more wikipedia information on the subject than you may or may not want to know ????

So lets call the pictured 4 door car style a *** cabriolet sedan *** .

No old cars in this picture but I thought it would be interesting to take a similar view as post #248225 to see what has changed in 60 years. There are still a few buildings standing.

Is there a photo of the fifteen passenger workers coach still in existence? Maybe in a musuem somewhere. I find that brochure picture very interesting. Would it be one of the first limos that was constructive. How many of these coaches were there produced? thanku

I've seen a photo of one of these workers coach's a while back...The photo was taken in someone's side-yard down in southern California and the coach appeared to be original and un-restored...It was truly amazing to look at...

Steve...? It was on a hot-rod website you "turned" me on to, about 4 months ago...You remember seeing it...?

Heyyy... that's not a Chevy!! A Chevrolet Dealer welcomes Harley Earl's LeSabre Show car...

[Linked Image from i150.photobucket.com]

And I'm guessing 1925 on this one... Any other ideas?
