Are there short and long light on a Chevrolet 1919, if there is, it can shift up and down

I don't think so. My 1918 does not have a dimmer switch.

There must be a member who knows whether there was a headlight on a 490 Chevrolet 1919 up and dimming or what year it was standard.

Yes. My 1919 FB50 has a dimmer switch for the head lights on the light switch which is around the ignation key. OFF, HIGH, DIM. The head light bulbs have two elements. One for low beem and, I think, one for high beem.

Hi Hutch, You are partly correct. The head light and ignition switch did have the positions for Dim and High. The headlight bulbs were double contact because your wiring system is the dual wire type.
