I need help on dash paint color for a 39 Master Deluxe. Was it "rose tan" or another choice? Recently cleaned old paint off of radio "dash plate" and it's beautiful chrome! Were any of these radio plates left chrome? Trying to restore car as original as possible so paint is important to me. ANy info greatly appreciated!!

Hi Jen,

Three radios were available for the 39 Chevrolet car. The bottom of the line radio had a plastic escutcheon which matched the remainder of the dash. The middle and top of the line two piece unit had a chrome escutcheon, however it also was painted dash color in the low spots and the bowtie was red.

You didn't indicate which of the two latter radios you had, but if you will contact me direct I can furnish pictures of the proper paint scheme

Yes,rose tan is te correct color for the 1939 dash. The glove box door, area to the right of it,matching area around speedometer and left side in line with speedo is a dark wood grain. The top of the dash, lower ridge, steering column, steering wheel ,hand brake lever,is rose tan. Chev Nut
