My '38 was charging at about 9 volts. I have a 6v alternator. I noticed today when I turned the lights on the ammeter stayed just under the neutral mark then went to full charge when I turned the lights off. When I got home the voltmeter showed a charging rate of 7.7 volts. I'm assuming the internal regulator in the alternator went to regulator heaven or is at least on death row. Am I correct in this diagnosis?
