Fisk markets a Lubriplate Waterpump grease. They also have a web site where you can order over the internet

Water pump grease, available from many sources. I use some made by Lubriplate. A seach should find the particulars as it was posted in a forum a while ago. Do not use regular chassis or wheel bearing grease as it is not compatible with water.

Yes you can use too much but it is not likely. A small twist every few hundred miles for the older cars and less often for the newer ones.

The 1934 shop manual says to use #2 1/2 cup grease or any other water proof grease.I have used common wheel beasring grease in the pump on my '34 for the last 35 years with no problem.Turn down the cup a couple of turns every 1000 miles or so/
Perhaps a boat trailer wheel bearing grease would be better as its designed to "fight" water.

I found a local Lubriplate dealer and ordered the waterpump grease, got it the next day and didn't have to pay for shipping as I would if I ordered on the internet.

I like the lubriplate WP grease because it IS somewhat watersoluable and won't stop up the radiator and water jacket like waterproof grease will. It is probably mostly soap mixed with a little soluable oil.
