I have a 32 and want to change the fluid in the differential and the transmission. When I owned Model A's we used to use a 600 weight lube, although it really did not seem that thick. Should I use a standard 80/90 gear lube?? How about using any additives to the lube? When my father built the car I seem to remember him making a mix of the 90 and 600 lubes. Transmission shifts fine but fluids have been in for almost 30 years!!

I have a 31 and put the 600 weight in the tranny when I rebuilt it. My dad gave me a couple of quarts,it is the proper consistensy. No leakage. When it was time to change the differential I ordered it from the fs. At Flint in the trailer at 100 plus F I did have leakage from the tranny a couple of ounces on the floor which looks like alot more. I would suggest the 600 weight.

The 600 wt same as you used on the model A's is what you should use. I tried 85/140 modern gear lube and it leaks and is not as quiet.
