??? I wonder if there was any special designation in the V.I.N. or paperwork or an attached emblem identifying those CHEVROLET's that were assembled at the fair ????
I just read an article entitled "GM at the fair" by Tim Dye - stating the fair had a CHEVROLET amphitheatre which housed a 420 foot long assembly line. There were two lines. Parts entered in one end and workers started the assembly process. By the time it went down one row and back up the other row there was a completed car ready for purchase. All the while there was a second level all the way around with guard rails where spectators could look down and watch the entire process. Imagine how unique of a situation it was to watch a car being built and buy it on the spot and drive it home that day.

There was a special id plate installed on the cars built at The Worlds Fair. I do not recall when the article appeared in the G & D about a survivor car of this assembly line. It was quite an interesting article. I'm sure someone will chime in there with the details of the article.

There was an article in the G&D, but I don't remember when either. I have also seen the special plaque placed on those cars on eBay and they sold at about the price of the car.

I also remember that whole idea of "build a Chevy at the World's Fair." Altho I wouldn't have been able to tell ya the details of what year or the city til I googled it just a few minits ago. On the other hand, I do not recall a G and D article about all this. Check this out.... Build a Chevy at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago As for Ray's comment: I can imagine one of those plaque's would be a high dollar item. Bill.

Hi Guys,
If I remember right, only the 34's models had the dash plaque identifying it as a World's Fair car.
