Found a good Chev day/night mirror at Portland Swap Meet but the mirror needs re-silvering.Any one know who would still do this?Can't find anyone here in Victoria that can.....Thanks

If the mirror can be removed from the frame, you can probably get a new mirror cut as a replacement and then install it in the original frame.

Hi Skip.Mirror's all apart and being rechromed as we speak but because of the tapered glass to make it day/night the local guys don't carry such a thing(glass is thinner at the bottom than it is at the top).

I didn't know that's how it worked. You might find a newer one in a junkyard that could be cut down to fit...

Wow! Sounds like a big and expensive job. Silver Nitrate is expensive. Let us know how It turns out if you attempt It.

I took the old mirror with me to a local wreckers and after a little searching, found a day/night mirror in a later model Acura that was almost the same size for $10.I used a Dremel tool to cut the plastic case off and took the two mirrors to a Speedy Auto Glass shop that trimmed the Acura one to size for $5.for the coffee fund.Put everything back together and it works perfectly.
