Hello Folks; In trying (again) to fix my 32 coupe oil leak coming from behind the timing gear cover, I noticed that the woodruf key in the crankshaft, does not extend forward past the gear, to catch the notch in the oil slinger, allowing it to rotate with the cranshaft. It is actually jusy free spinning.I'm thinking this is an unusual woodruff key ?. maybe with a tab extending forward to catch the noth in the oil slinger? The one that's in there now is just the half moon shape type. Thank You Guys; HotPockets

If the balancer is driven all the way back it should keep the slinger from turning on the shaft.

Somewhat related, I too had a leak through the timing chain cover and finally went to a machine shop and had a seal (metric dimensions) installed. If you would like a machinest drawing of this arrangement and the seal number that fit in the modified cover, send me an email and I will send a copy to you. It worked great. Jim delongx@msn.com
