I have a 4 door 58 belair with a straight 6 and I'm wanting to put a 350 in it. What 350 will bolt up to the tranny? I think it's a powerglide! Kinda new in all this. Like is it a certain year that will fit or certain bolt pattern?please help. Thanks

You will also want to change the trans because the 6 bellhousing is differant from the V8. Would be a good time to update to a 350 trans.

If you decide to update to a 350 transmission, you won't go wrong since the 350 transmission will give you many years of great service.

58 Bel Air,

I've seen a number of cars around here in the 41 to 58 model years that still have a six (mostly updated to 235's if they're the older cars) that have a 235, with a turbo 350 AT trans.

For instance, there's a big gun in the local chapter of the "Inliners" club that has a 58 Bel Air 4 door (just like you) with that exact set-up, 235 with a TH350 behind it. I don't know what adapters, etc. are required. All I know is that's what he's got. Of course being an Inliner, he's also got a small 4 barrel and duals and so on on his.

You might want to check the Inliners International Club site / blog, chat type thing. Those guys are more into those kinds of mods. You could probably get some good advice "over there." Just a thought....

Good luck with yours....

Bill.
