The standard tail light for 1937 - 1939 roadsters was mounted on the steel number plate bracket as shown, but only had a single light on the RH side of the plate. the LH one is an added extra at some stage.
The bracket and plate is attached to the 2 bumper bolts bellow it , but not the centre one.

I noticed the gas cap is also different. What a nice car. You need to go to Barrett-Jackson with that car. I'm thinking "BIG BUCKS".

Hay Jack, do you own a 39 roadster if so it would be even rarer then my 37, is it the standard or commercial roadster ?.
from the book Ive got it shows 88 standards, and 116 commercials built.
any pic you can share of it ?.

Yes,i own a 1939 business roadster, under a slow restoration, as building a house slowed things down a lot, but everything is there and a lot has been repaired, but it is not ready for painting yet.

I have counted about 22 surviving 1939 roadsters , in Sports roadster with the dickey seat, and Business roadster with the large hinged boot (trunk).

my car has been in the body shop for over two years, But hopefully if I can decide on the interior look, I can get the upholstery done, then it will be nearly finished.
Ive been told there is about 15 of 37s around but most seem to be sports, have not yet seen any other 37 commercial ( business) roadsters.
Im sure there would be some around somewhere.
Ive just finish my house.
