I posted a couple posts, had a small fire on my new carb that i put out with water :( i paniced but didnt run the motor at all after water got in the manifold. It has been sitting for two days with plugs out to help evaporate some of this water and i had noticed water evident on plug #4 an #8 all the rest seemed perfectly dry. I burned up one wire i saw to the electric choke that i beleive caused my fire. long story for that but nothing else if eveident of damage. My problem is i can turn the key (plugs and carb not installed) and it goes to crank for a half a second then i lose electrical and nothing. I wait five minutes and i can do it again. What could be causing this? any ideas?

im listening because somebody always knows more than I.

That could be a starter motor problem.
