Hi my name Rose, Im from NSW Australia, Im the proud owner of a 37 holden built, chevy commercial roadster, Im in the process, of restoring her, she's been re-sprayed back to her original Color, Bancroft Blue, Im ready to do the re-upholstering, I am currently doing research to find out the original trim pattern, and color. Im trying to restore back to, from factory original, this is not so hard as all mostly still original. all the re chroming done. she's Still 6volt, properly in need of some wiring replacing though. All running gear correct . I have the 1937 Rego papers, so Know it still has original Engine. So mainly its just a good tidy up, getting the upholstery right!.

Hello Rose, welcome to the Chat site, A 1937 roadster is a very nice and rare chevy to own. The people here are very helpful with all the questions you need answered. Are you aware of the Veteran and vintage Chevrolet Association of Australia,(VVCAA). The club in Sydney meets at Sefton, and has regular runs and monthly meetings,as well as 5 year anniversary runs to various areas around NSW. Many members are also members Of the VCCA(USA) who run this chat site. Once again welcome. http://www.vvcaa.com.au/

Hi Jack, I am a member of the VVCAA, but as yet have not had the pleasure, of meeting up with any other members, or going on any runs. Ive been waiting for my car to be finished and on the road again. Ive kept the car on full rego, for the 3 years Ive owned it, but its mostly only seen the inside of the body shop walls. If I can find the upholstery details I need, it should see the light of day soon.

Congratulations...sounds like a nice car. Photos would be a real treat to see. These guys are the best at helping others with anything that comes along concerning old chevys. I hope you find the pattern you need. Happy Motoring!

Hi Rose, Looks very nice in the blue indeed,
What do you know of the history of the car? It is a very unique roadster as it has wind up windows. I did read some time ago about someone in victoria , that requested the Dealer to add the wind up windows at the expense of the new owner. I wonder if this is the same car?.
Most roadsters have the side curtains fitted.

Rose Welcome to Chatter. That is another nice car to add to the collection owned by Chatter members and the controls are on the correct side of the car. What part of NSW are you located. I am about 2/3 of the way between Sydney and Canberra. Tony

I have the first rego papers for the car, It was bought new from Preston motors Melbourne, so could be the same car, I know it was owned from new till 1975 by the one owner, as I have the transfer papers. I was told by the last owner, who was from NSW, that the full doors was a factory option, and only about 5 where made like it. I live at Lake Macquarie, about 1 1/2 hours north of Sydney.
