Scroll down towards the bottom of this page and on the right hit Club Regions. That might help.

I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

Oil Spot,

You could also go to VCCA home page and click on "events" or "upcoming events." (I'm not sure exactly what it's called.) When you get to that events page, you'll find info about upcoming events. Their location and a brief description of the event, the location, contact info and so on.

Essentially it's the same page or two that's in the G and D every month.

Hope this helps.....

Bill.

I see in your profile you did not list your VCCA membership number. I'm not sure about all the club rules but I think you need to be a member to take part in a tour. If I'm wrong someone will correct me. Also I invite you to join the VCCA they support this site and the G&D is a great magazine with good information and a lot more information on this site and on the club site is available to you.

The VCCA has an annual get-to-gether that includes Indiana. The Central Area #7 includes VCCA members in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania, Western New York and Southern Ontario. The upcoming Central Meet will be held near Indianapolis this coming July. We will be meeting in Brown County, Indiana. If you are a VCCA member, you can read about this event in the G&D, as it is already listed. If you are not a VCCA member, you can sign up to be a member and then join in on the fun. It's that easy.
I will be there.

Small question. Is it possible to view the VCCA meet as a spectator? My chevy isnt exactly ready for the road yet and i do have intention on joining the VCCA. I just may not have the '32 out that day.

You do not have to own a Chevrolet to be a member of the VCCA. Sign up and then attend any function as a full fledged member.

If your 32 is drivable, but not completed, bring it on out. It must be roadworthy and able to pass a Field Check however.

You're welcome to show up and mingle with the other car owners... ask questions, etc. But only members are allowed to "participate" in the events, such as Tours, games, meals and such.

Most Meets have gatherings at the hotel each evening which is open to the public, while the cars are on display. So naturally, you're very welcome to stop by then. And, yes, park your Chevy close by, and I"m sure that someone will be glad to walk over and check it out with you.

What is a field check? Isnt that just if you want to be judged? I mean there's nothing wrong with that if thats what it takes but i dont think i would win any awards. It's an original but far from sparkly new. driving

Every vehicle that is on the show/judging field must pass a Field Check. This is a basic safety check and is performed before you go on the field so the vehicle will not have to be operated after it is parked. Once everyone is parked there will not be any movement or operation until released from the field. All in the name of safety.

Oilspot... another way to look at the judging is not as a competition with the other vehicles, but as a 'competition' with yourself. My '51 has been in the VCCA since 1971, but has never been judged, and would certainly never win an award. It is, however, a very original car. I plan on using the judging at Flint as a tool to help me restore it even more. My goal is not to 'beat' other cars, but to take it home, work on it, and beat my own point total next time out. Who better to give you a 'to do' list than the best experts in the field of Vintage Chevrolet restoration, The VCCA??

Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet.

Ray, The field entrance check is not a Safety Check. It is an operational check to see that everything on the vehicle will operate as it is supposed to. For insurance purposes we do not certify the vehicle to be safe.

The Field Entrance Check is conducted off the field so that the car will not need to demonstrate any operational characteristics while parked on the field. The vehicle must also have an operational fire extinguisher. See page 27 2008 Judging Manual. This check has nothing to do with any insurance related requirements.

It is true that it has nothing to do with insurance requirements. It has to do with liability as advised by insurance companies. We do not want to be held liable by saying the vehicle has been safety checked and someone being hurt by something going wrong with a vehicle that has been safety checked. We have a field entrance check rather than a safety check.

VCCA appreciates original as well as shinny restored cars. We have a HPOCF (Historic Preservation of Original Chevrolet Features) category that you can get certification for at a meet. I have a '30 sedan with HPOCF that is far from pristine and we enjoy driving it on tours. I recently got the 2,000 mile tab for the Touring Oval. We have passport system where you log miles driven on tours and get awards at various milestones. VCCA has a way for everyone to have fun with their Chevy, plus you will meet some very nice people with common interests.
