Perhaps you remember my many questions several years ago. Well I have only my interior to do (next year) and my 6 year project will be on the road.
Before I drive it I want to replace my tires (5) for my 32 sport coupe.
Any suggestions you have for white wall tires? Thank you

Coker and Universal both have nice white wall tires. If you want be "period correct" the white wall tires should be double white walls instead of single white walls.

Firestone tires will look better since they are smaller and closer to the correct size. They also fit in the wells where the BFG's don't. Also I think Firestone is the only one that has double wall, white walls.

Hey Skip,

Universal is what you have on your 30 right? I don't remember ever see the 32 size from Universal. I know that Universal has stopped making the single wall white wall in 4.75/5.00-19.

Hey Brucie! Yep, that is what I have. When I purchased the tires years ago I think that Universal also had the tires for 1932, but I haven't checked in years to see what they currently have available.

I bought Universal 19" tires for one of my '31s. They were a b!t&% to get on. Seems that they are just a skosh too small in inside diameter. Will never buy Universals again.

I bought my double sided firestone whitewall tires from coker tire and they look great. I do have to let the air out of them when I put them In the sidemounts and then add air to them. The problem with that Is, That if you have a flat on a tour or where ever, You would have to let most of the air out to get the tire out of the fender well. So far no flat tires. The other thing, Is now I have six wide whitewalls on both sides and that turns Into cleaning 12 whitewalls. The firestone molds for the double sided whitewalls were being made In New Zealand and stamped made In New Zealand. Coker tire sells them,
And they are now stamped made In the USA.

You have referred to 19" tires. My 32 has origional 18" tires. What is wrong with my rims?

Nothing. We were discussing the tires used on the 1930-31 models which had 19" wheels. The wheels used in 1932 were 18". Check out the front of your 1932 parts book since it gives all of the wheel sizes and wheelbases from 1929 through 1932.
