Is there more than one source for a 1929 wire harness? If so, which one is recommended? Or, where might I find the correct wire and connectors to fabricate my own?

You can get a wiring harness from the Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon, www.fillingstation.com/ or from Rhode Island Wiring Service in Rhode Island www.riwire.com/ or from YnZ's Yesterday's Parts in California www.ynzyesterdaysparts.com/

I purchased sets for 1929 and 1931 from YnZ and was very pleased. I had the original in the 1929 and it was copied down to the armour wrapped wires for the headlights.

Do they include the short piece of armor that covers the wires going to the generator and temp sensor? Also the armor for the tail light that runs between the body and the spare tire rack?

The '29 and '32 are not the same but basically only differ in the length of a few wires (tail light, gas tank, horn) and the tail light plug or terminals.

Gator: If your 1929 wiring harness has the wrapped armored cable around the headlight wires, that is not the same as 1932. The wrapped armored cable was used in 1929 and early 1930. In late 1930 and up the larger flexible headlight armored cable was used. laugh laugh laugh

Since most of the replacement wiring harnesses did not have the original type armor or conduit it must be replaced or added. I also have a '29 harness that I will use on a '31 after making the modifications. Any of the harness suppliers can also supply wire.

Can a new harness be put in without a complete breakdown of the car?

Gator or Chipper, if either of you still have your '29 harness intact, maybe we can make a deal and you can just buy the right one. Did either come with the correct Chevy terminals? Agrin

The wrapped armored cable was used in 1929 and early 1930. In late 1930 and up the larger flexible headlight armored cable was used. talk What is the difference between the two? What would be the dates to determine the early 1930 from the late 1930?
