replacing front coils, trying to get new one compressed enough to get spindle bolted back in, bare frame and engine trans installed for weight, using homemade compressor i built any tricks anyone has? not going well here thanks

Can't help much if you are using a homemade compressor as I don't know how it is made and works. I have two different ones that both work but one is much easier, the other more secure. I use the one that I consider safer as I don't want to launch a coil spring across the shop or into my body.

All that is necessary is to compress the spring ~25%. Put it in place and then use floor jack on arm to get spindle to line up. It can be done by hand but much easier with jack.

the one I am using is a rod that goes tru the shock mount on top a bar 3/4 down tighten the spring up use jack Im just not there yet, yours sounds easier,
