The first Chevrolet to have a full carpet in the front was a 1950 Bel Air. The 1939 Master DeLuxe had a brown rubber front mat. The Master 85 had a black rubber front mat. The rear floor on the M.D. had a pile carpet. The M 85 has a more or less woven type of carpet. The above rubber mats are now available from the Filling Station. If you have an "account" with the F.S. you would have recieved a flier via Email about the mats and the special prices. The F.S. will soon also have the 1941-1948 brown front mats with the carpet INSERT moulded in like the originals. They also will be having the 1941-1948 brown trunk mats for sedans and the 1941-1947 club coupe and convertible lower trunk mat and the upper trunk shelf mats. NOTE - LATE 1947 and 1948 cub coupes and convertibles did not have the shelf over the spare tire thus no shelf mat and the lower mat fit those models only. Business coupes had no trunk mats.

Does anyone know of anyone making mats for a 1940 Special Deluxe Coupe?
Thank You!

In looking at the parts book the 1940 Club Coupes had a mat on the shelf above the spare tire only. There was no lower floor mat as the 1941 had. Also the 1940 Club Coupe mat was only black in color. Was used on the Master DeLuxe and Special DeLuxe Club Coupes making it a very limited application.

Chevgene,
Thanks for that info. I have one other question for you. The running board clips on a 40 Special Deluxe Coupe - were they of the snap in type or were they of the bolt & nut type. I have looked at different suppliers who sell the replacements & they all say theirs are correct even they are of both styles.
Thank You!
