Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment ?
A. It is money that the Federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get the money ?
A. From Taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a digital TV, thus stimulating the ecomony.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the ecomony in China ?
A. Shut Up.

Here is some helpful advice on how to best help the US ecomony by spending your stimulus check wisely:
... If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
... If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
... If you purchase a computer it will go to India.
... If you purchase fruits & vegatables it will go to Mexico and Central America.
... If you buy a car it will go to Japan.
... We need to help the American ecomomy. You can keep the money in America by spending it at Yard Sales, going to a baseball game, prostitutes, domestic beer & wine, or Tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US.

You forgot the most obvious. Spend your money on old Chevs, and admission to classic car shows.

Oh yeah! Now that's a fine example for our kids...

Take a loose woman with tatoo's to a baseball game and get drunk!

Ya gotta love the American way of having fun!

Stimulus? isn't that the same oxy-moron as Tax Rebates?

Hey didn't anybody think that if we didn't have to pay so much in taxes, we would all have enough to spend!

What and not have Washington control as much of our lives as they can trick us into? What have you been smoking?

What percentage of Americans understand that 50% of all income tax collected is from the top 2% of all incomes? Do they also know that 85% of taxes come from the top 5%? So 95% only pay 15% of taxes? Then there are those that pay nothing but get "credits" (government payment) for having kids.

Volunteering to do taxes for low income and elderly people with Tax-Aide (a cooperative program between AARP Foundation and IRS) has opened my eyes. It truly amazes me how little some people live on and are not on the government dole. I have a great deal of respect for them. Then there are the others!

Those that are in the top 2% of the income earners probably do not mess with old CHEVROLET's, unless it is an 1970 LS6 Chevelle or 1967 427 Corvette.

If you do happen to get a stimulus payment. Buy American made guns: Colt, S&W, Ruger, etc. You might not be able to buy any in the future and you might need them! patriot

I know of several that are in the top 2% that are into Chevrolets. Maybe not the majority but a few might be enough.

They are going to need the "stimulus/porkulus" payments in Oregon. According to news reports the state of Oregon is about to raise the beer tax on beer brewed in Oregon by 1900% so they can increase state spending. So much for buying local beers. This Bass Pale Ale is for you!

Ouch!!!! Junkyard Dog has our deepest sympathy

I feel better for you Dog that your beer is not brewed in OR so you will not be subject to this new tax. Unfortunately, the closest AB plants are in CA which has some of the highest taxes on brewing beer in USA so you are probably already paying.

Anti-Stimulus plan in Oregon. Did you see that they want to tax evey mile you drive. They are kicking aroung the idea of putting a government GPS unit in your car to track your mileage. They say they have to make up the revenue they are loosing because people are buying less gasoline. This GPS unit would show you the tax dollar amount as you drive. It would be like a meter in a taxi. Environmentalist like the idea.

Question - How would this work for non-Oregon residents passing through Oregon ???

With a government GPS in your car. They can also know where you have been and where you are at any given moment. Better
start practising how to say "Sieg Heil" in the near future.

Make up the revenue they are loosing because people are driving less?????

Isn't that what they asked us to do? Also to build more efficient cars.

I'm confused...tell one thing. If the government wants to put their equiptment on my car, they are going to have to pay me rent to do it. If not, then somebody must have stolen it when I was at the mall...

Come on RGwiz... You know that isn't how it works.
The Govt. mandated the exact specs for the device. pays out millions of dollars for some creapy engineer to design, test and retest the device, then pays him your tax money, mandates the car maker to buy the device, test it retest it modify it, retest and then make it mandatory on the car, the car maker adds cost plus and a reasonable amount for research, testing, retesting etc., etc. and then when you buy the car your locals add enough tax to cover all of the previous costs and taxes already paid for the device, making you actually pay $595.71 for a $69.95 GPS recorder. It will then need to be inspected and recalibrated each year at a special inspection station for $112.89to be sure it is sending Big brother the correct info and that you haven't messed with it! patriot driving curse :vcca:
