this was clamped around the u joint bell of my 31. I'm guessing it is meant to re-inforce the drive line?

Hi,

I have purchased several of those kits and have them on the 1925 and one of the 1928s. The effectiveness is questionable
, however the idea was to strengthen the ball joint and the torque tube connection. When they are installed they have a spring load that does allow some movement. Each screw has a spring on the shaft that keeps tension on the joint.
