There is no seal used.

Check the back of your valve cover gasket first to see if it is leaking and running down the back of the engine block. Also, you might want to do a search on Chevy Chatter since we have talked about rear engine oil leaks many times in the past and some of the answers posted may help you as well.

The oil is not coming from the valve cover and I looked at previous post for rear engine oil leaks and oil leaks but did not see any for a 1929. Can you drop the oil pan without removing the engine. And is there a better search then I looked up I did not see the top of your reply about that there is no seal Sorry

The previous postings were about rear oil leaks on the early 194 six cylinder engines so the postings would apply to your 1929. Some of the topics that were discussed were the clearance around the crankshaft oil slinger, the rear main bearing cap, the ball check valve in the rear main bearing cap and etc.

Yes, you can remove the oil pan without removing the engine.....check your shop manual.

Oil spill on a the rearmost main bearing can be owing to for small autflow a the rearmost nether bearing.
Do i discovered my oil leakage, a i'd mounted a new gearwheel oil pump, a gives important more oil from the old original oil pump, a couldn't run quickly enough backward in sump, so that do i dismantle the the rearmost main bearing pan, and took the freeze plug of, and so that to a hole which was, a was one 6 mm. the drill slanted down, back-and forth.
Do i drilled the 2 holes up to 10 mm. and placed plug in once again, after that zero oil leakage.
Sorry my british, post me a e-mail that shall i try on i can define me better and with pictures.
