By popular request I summarized my steps for restoration of the shine and removal of scratches from Stainless Steel and Aluminum trim.
The request came after visiting a couple of car shows in the US where it would have made a difference to a number of cars if they had done this.
Anyway, if you have any trim you are not happy with, click over to this and download the DYI procedures, pictures and all.

Nice information. I have been polishing my 41 stainless and this information has helped me but the trim was in nice shape so they only needed a little buffing and they were like new. good tips newangel
