I have my eye on a '65 Chev Impala Super Sport for sale by the original owner (documented). It's blue - believe it's called "Marina Blue". But, the top is white. Can't find any record of this being a factory option. Was it common for dealer's to make this kind of an option available?
Many thanks.
I don't know how common it was, but when I purchased my 72 Chevelle it was a plain Jane and the dealer installed/or had installed a vinyl roof covering. I think most dealers would not hesitate to custom paint if the customer was willing to pay.
Marina Blue was not a 1965 color....was a 1966 color.Marina was a medium dark blue. The blues available in 1965 was a medium light blue and a very dark blue.
The white top was not available. Some times a top would be painted at the customers request. When the paint was not factory an incorrect type of stainless divider moulding was used....and thats a dead give-away.
If it is a light metallic blue , i think it is mist blue.
I will check when i get home from work.
