I am new to the forum and the club.

I am finishing a complete restoration of a 62 impala SS 409 2x4 convertible and need some help correctly detaling the engine compartment. I have seen wax markings on the firewall. can someone translate what they are and exactly where they are supposed to be located,

thanks very much
Steve
Steve,

The most common markings would be the paint & trim numbers, sometimes just the last two digits. For example, 936 paint might just be 36. 811 interior might just be 11. It's common to see "4-spd" crayoned as well. The exact locations varied by plant and the operator who was on the job that day.
If you're stripped down the firewall, you should already have the evidence you need.
