Has anyone had any experience with the idler arm from Kanter Auto Products? I have had the idler arm on my '51 rebuilt twice and they did not turn out well. There is still too much up and down movement.

The Chevrolet parts kit came with an assortment of shims that could be used to take out the up and down movement.

KANTER IS NEAR ME IN NORTH JERSEY THEY PROBABLY SEND THEM OUT TO BE REBUILT I WOULD FIND ANOTHER REBUILDER CALL CHEV'S OF THE 40'S OR NATIONAL CHEV. POSSIBLY THEY DO IT OR CAN RECOMMEND A RELIABLE REBUILDER.

Try FCRC Machine in French Camp, California. They also use the trade name Rare Parts. They are a rebuilder.

We had them rebuild the pitman arm for a 1981 Toyota Celica Supra. They replaced the whole tapered ball stub assembly in the arm. That pitman arm was unique to that model. The regular Celica part would fit but was a different length so it would have messed up the steering geometry. We searched for over a y3ar and could never find one. Even the Supra parts hoarders did not have one.
