So I ordered some engine compartment bling, an overflow tank from chev organization. Renews my membership for free too.
Question I realize the longer rubber hose goes from the radiator around the battery box and to the bottom of the tank. Center or outside flange plug?
And then where does the 2nd hose go? Is it a drain or overflow for the overflow?
And in my case it's going to have to mount over the passenger vent cable, but it appears it will still work?
Thoughts? Pictures?

Thanks
I sent you installation pictures
You may already know this; but if you want the overflow or coolant recovery system to work, you'll need to replace the rad cap with one that is meant for a recovery system. A standard cap will only allow coolant to go out to the bottle; where the recovery style will allow coolant to flow in both directions.
When the engine becomes warm and before pressure is built, expanding coolant is allowed to flow out to the bottle. Once a few pounds of pressure has built in the cooling system the valve in the cap closes; allowing the cooling system to become pressurized; up to the cap's rating. After the engine has been shut off and or the engine temp drops; a vacuum is created in the cooling system, another valve opens in the cap allowing coolant in the bottle to flow back into the rad.
The benefits are the rad is always full to the top and you no longer have coolant puddles under the car; after freshly topping the rad up.
Dan.
As per the instructions that came with the overflow tank......If a none pressure cap is used with no changes (worked well on my '39 for years.)
If a pressure cap is used a gasket to insert into the cap is provided. (works well on my 1950).
I made a couple of brackets to space mine out away from the cables , etc.

Dean, your photobucket link does not work...
I get a "page does not exist" message...
The link must be "selective". It didn't work for me. Said, "Error".
Overflow tank has a 1939-1948 decal and oil filter decals are incorrect Dean. The 1950-1962 AC oil filter has a decal on the outtr rim of the lid. It is blue like the filter can.
Thanks I can quite make the brackets out but I think it will still work with a little pressure on the vent cable.
Then I put on the wrong decal too. It came with the one pictured and an orange one. Thought this older style had a classic look. So the goes another point or two!
How do you a " recovery" style when you see it?
Thanks, Gene. I know, I just liked the look of that one better, that's all.
Thanks for the compliment chef-chevy!
Just trying to help out with a picture.
