I am in the process of installing a T700 behind a 235 in my '47. At the moment it uses the front engine mount and the bell housing mounts. With theT700 , I will lose my rear mounts, so I will have to use my side mounts
with appropriate mounts to the frame. Before I go making templates and making some up, does anyone already make these to go on a 46-48 frame?

Guess I need to know what a T700 may be.
A 3 speed + over drive GM automatic transmission. Came out in 1982 and was a disaster, used and improved for many years later.
The T 700 was a later overdrive version of the Turbo 350 and Turbo 400. The one I am using is the manual
Valve body version, which has the Chevy small block bolt pattern, and there are adaptors available to mount it on earlie sixes.

I put a 700 in my 41 and I modified the trans crossmember. When I get it out of storage I could sent you pictures if you like. There my be some One making a crossmember but I never looked.
Thanks BobG, I have done that. Dens 41, I had a look at the original crossmember, and I reckon I could leave most of it there, and cut out the middle, so I could make a bolt-in piece to match the rear T700 mount. But if you have pictures of it , that would be handy. thanks
When we get home next week I will get the car out and take pictures. Send me your email and I will send the pictures that way.
