I attended the VCCA Anniversary meet in Rapid City in 1996? and found many large salvage yards and lots of nice rebuildable vehicles that were not affected by rust disease. Met one gentleman there who had a barn full of antique cars (over 50 ) and all were registered and used. You are fortunate to be in an area that is rich in "treasure".

Hey Steve,
I believe I know the guy your talking about. He passed away about two years ago. They had an auction this last summer and sold everything. It wasn't well advertised and I found out after the fact.

Along with several Chevrolets, there is a Lincoln, possibly a V12, a Franklin and several Fords and a bunch I have no idea what they are. I'm going to try to buy the remains and salvage them from their present fate.

I don't remember his first name (Carl?) but the last was Savage. He was truly a one of a kind character. We stopped to look at a car that was outside the barn and he came out and gave us the grand tour. Some cars were original low mileage cars and others modified. There were 55-56-57 chevs and several others with blowers on them. He even had a trike with V-8 Toronado power and that also had a blower. The rafters were stuffed full with intake manifolds complete with carbs and linkage so he could make a quick swap. As I said all the cars were registered and he would run each one for about a week and just rotate them.
