I am looking to replace the tires on my 2008 Impala. Have Cooper CS4 Touring on now with 41,000 miles. I get flat spots when it's cool out (30 to 45 degrees). This is suppose to be an 80,000 mile tire. What did you put on your car? Any suggestions/thought? Thanks

I am not a Cooper Tire fan. I just put a set of Contintal True Contacts on my Chevrolet mini-van and so far they are great. Had Good Year family tires(Dunlop) and they were terrible. For a lower cost tire the guys at the tire store that I call on Recommended Generals. General is owned by contintal Tire and both lines of tires are highly rated by "Tire Rack"....read their tests. They sell many brands.

I run Michelins on my Silverado pickup and my wifes Honda. I did get good service from the Goodyear wrangler tires that came originally on the pickup-close to 60,000 miles.

Mchelins have been my tire of choice for many years.

With correct tire pressures and routine rotations, my Michelin tire life has always topped over 100,000 miles.

Few wheel weights needed to balance Michelins, when installed new.

I buy them at Costco ...... the low Costco price plus the seasonal Michelin rebates can make good tire pricing.

I currently have them on my '09 Traverse and my '07 TrailBlazer 4 x 4.

Very pleased with Michelins. dance

Over the last 10 years I have put Continental Tru Contacts on numerous vehicles. My wife really likes them for ride, lack of noise, and rain/light snow traction. They are also well above average for performance such as steering response and braking.

Plus we get good life from them. I do tend to replace tires earlier than most people. My observation is that no matter what brand or tread design if the tread depth is below 4/32" you will experience reduced traction in rain much less any snow.

According to a person at Cooper Tires, this version has a nylon belt inside the construction. That, he said is what is causing the temporary flat spots. It's annoying, but not dangerous. Looking at other choices right now. Fortunately, there is still enough tread for now. The top of Lincoln's head is still covered by tread.

I put Bridgestone Ecopias on my 09 Jeep Patriot 2wd. I am VERY happy with the wear, and the quiet ride. Good grip in the snow, as well. Coopers USED to be good. I would stay away from BF Goodrich and newer Coopers.

I have a set of Cooper tires on my Caravan and they have be a good investment. The set on my Impala - not so good. I was trying to support an Ohio company and buy American, but the replacement tires on the Impala will not be Coopers.
