Helping a guy on another car site I know who is looking for information regarding the nameplate that is attached to the driver's/passenger door mouldings. It is approx. 3" long, has 2 attaching points and would say either "master" or "deluxe". This is for a '38 Chevy coupe, but other years should apply.

Anyone out there familiar with this piece? And better yet, if you have a picture of what it looks like that would
be great.

No such thing on my 38. This is a fresh out of the barn pre restoration picture of my 38 that shows the garnish moldings.

I agree. Some one must have removed the plate from the hood side mouldings.

I will let my friend know...looks like he has to do more research for now.

Looks like there's been extensive non OEM work done by your pics. It's hard to say what is what.

The chrome attachments to the window garnishes shown above are identical to the ones on my 1940 Special Deluxe two door front and rear window garnishes.

Mike, could you send me a picture of your front door attachments? I don't know what is supposed to fit in that space so I don't have any idea what I'm looking for to finish off the window frame. My '38 is the black and chrome pic Bobalouie added above. The other pic had an attachment but has three holes to attach it.

Yes, I did. What he sent looks like a bigger attachment than I think would fit mine. His had 3 holes to attach it and mine only has 2. I have a Master Deluxe coupe. Maybe these are endagered species and there just isn't many around.

I've never seen such a plate on a 38. Possibly something custom done long ago.

They are hoodside emblems that some one attached to the garnish mouuldings
