New member here, I've had Ford A's and T's before but this is my first Chevrolet. It is titled as a 1926 and has been a local fire engine since it was built. It has a knock in the motor and needs the wiring redone among many other things, but I have no experience with these and would enjoy finding some resources and experts to learn from. Can y'all on the forum turn this Ford man into a Chevy one? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone tell me the differences between the Superior K and Superior V? This truck is titled as a 1926, were all 26's Superior V's? My truck has the K style Radiator shell, is that correct? (VIN tag is missing)

. The radiator shell is that of a 1927 LM or LO. The headlights are those of a 1926 R or X. K & V are passenger cars with aluminum radiator shells and 4 lugs holding the rim to the wheel. Many states registered the the year purchased instead of model number. If your original engine has casting number #345504 or #346715, It is a 1926 model X. If the casting number is #348709, it is a 1927 LM. .GM used last years parts on the larger truck chassis. I've posted a picture of a 1926 model X with 27 headlights. . .

The series 'K' has a totally different engine & radiator set up. The tag on the side of the front seat (trucks ????) on cars has series 'K' on the top line but if it was built in 1926 it will have the letter 'V' in the ID#. (ie: 2V XXXXX) If it was built in the later part of 1925 it will have a 'K' in the ID#. (ie: 2K XXXXX) The series 'K' engine has the generator/distributor/oil pump as a combined unit mounted on the passenger side of the engine and is driven off the cam shaft gear. The radiator out let is on the drivers side.
The 1926 series 'V' has the distributor mounted in the passenger side of the engine block, the oil pump is in the oil pan and the generator is belt driven and mounted on the drivers side which made it necessary to move the radiator out let to the passenger side. The outer radiator shell will fit either one.
