does the welting between body and frame extend from front to rear of the frame? what i'm tring to find out is if the front fenders sit on the same piece of welting. thanks

I would say so, I just brought a new roll of what you described as welting and there is 20ft per roll, well I planned on going from front to back anyway.
I brought the 2" wide tape with the self adhesive on one side to go face down on the frame, should do the trick.
